Hester Street Troupe at Sha'arey Shalom Tonight
Klezmer trio performs special Shabbat.

Temple Sha'arey Shalom of Springfield hosts a special Klezmer Shabbat with the popular Hester Street Troupe on Friday, June 18 at 8 p.m.
The Hester Street Troupe trio has played Klezmer and Jewish music for delighted audiences in the New York area, Florida and elsewhere for 21 years. Their performances are steeped in Klezmer, a style of music where the clarinet imitates human emotions like laughing and crying. Also, their repertoire includes songs from the Yiddish Vaudeville and Second Avenue Theatres as well as classic older and contemporary Jewish melodies.
Their recently released third recording, On Second Avenue, is a celebration of songs from Yiddish vaudeville and the Lower East Side.
