Police Arrest Three Women on Shoplifting Charges Outside Sports Authority

Allegedly stole shoes from the sporting goods store and were found to merchandise from neighboring stores.

This week, Springfield police arrested three women for allegedly shoplifting shoes from Sports Authority on Rte 22. Further investigation suggested that the women were responsible for a series of shoplifting thefts from stores throughout the area. 

On Monday, Aug. 9, Sports Authority employees contacted Springfield police to report a shoplifting attempt in progress. When officers Steve Hollyfield and Anthony Voorhees arrived at the store, they reportedly found three women out, discarding stolen sneakers in the parking lot.

Almuhadil Younger, 25 of East Orange was apprehended in the parking lot. Nicole Goshay, 26 of Newark, and Kyshal Ivery, 26 of Newark, attempted to flee the parking lot in a motor vehicle and were stopped by police.

Police say the motor vehicle used by the alleged shoplifters contained a large amount of new clothing with price tags still affixed, without shopping bags or receipts. According to a police report, the merchandise had sales tags from other retail clothing stores along Route 22.

In addition to the stolen merchandise, Police reportedly found two cigars filled with Marijuana. The search of the suspects also reportedly revealed that Ivery possessed four glassine envelopes containing what is suspected to be Heroin.

All three subjects charged with receiving stolen property (in excess of $500)

For the 60 separate items recovered from the motor vehicle and all three were charged with possession of marijuana (under 50 grams).

Ivery and Goshay were both charged with resisting arrest. Ivery was also charged with possession of heroin. Goshay was charged with shoplifting. In a background check, police discovered she had an active warrant for failure to appear at Wayne municipal court on shoplifting charges.

All subjects have an initial court appearance in the Union County Superior Court on

Monday, Aug. 16. Goshay was turned over to Wayne Police. Springfield Police detectives are working on identifying the stores where the recovered property was allegedly stolen from and to return them to the stores.
