Township Clears Almost $40,000 From Auction Site

GovDeals.com is clearing out Springfield's parking lots and bringing in some cash

Springfield Township Committee member Marc Krauss reports that the Township's recent partnership with online auction service govdeals.com has brought in $38,183.99 for the township as of Friday, June 11.

This money will be put back into the general fund. The largest selling item was a front loader for $20,000, which Krauss said was greater than the $6,000 the DPW would have received on a trade in.

Krauss spearheaded Springfield's involvement with Govdeals, a service that lets municipal governments throughout America put surplus and seized goods up for auction sales.
