Short Hills Road was blocked off from traffic at Morris Ave. following a single car accident that felled a metal poll holding a traffic signal and a street sign. Members of the auxiliary police were present, diverting traffic and cautioning passers by to avoid the live wires left by the uprooted pole.  The exact cause of the accident is not clear, but an auxiliary police member said a truck ran off the road and knocked down the pole at about 11 am this morning. No one was hurt in the incident, and the truck was parked nearby early this afternoon.
