2 Summit Burglaries Under Investigation, Suspects At Large: Police
Summit police are investigating a pair of burglaries reported at Morris Avenue's Summit Bagel and Peking Garden on Monday.

SUMMIT, NJ - Summit police are investigating a pair of burglaries reported at Morris Avenue’s Summit Bagel and Peking Garden on Monday.
Two suspects gained access to the Summit Bagel premises through two unlocked doors, police said. Inside the storefront, the pair climbed over a locked security gate, forced open the cash register and took about $300 in cash. The suspects also broke into two file cabinets and took between $50,000 to $60,000 in cash, police said.
Peking Garden, adjacent to Summit Bagel, was also burglarized, with the suspects entering the business by “exerting force on the front door,” police said. They left with around $3,000 in cash from the business.

It was not immediately clear when on Monday the burglaries took place.
Surveillance video from the scene provided limited descriptions of the two suspects, police said. The first suspect wore a black Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, gray sweatpants, white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, black gloves and had their face covered; the second suspect was dressed in a blue hoodie, black backpack, black sweatpants, black sneakers, and gray gloves with a face covering.

The burglaries are currently under investigation by the SPD Detective Bureau. Those with information related to the crimes are urged to contact the Summit Police Detective Bureau at 908-273-0051.
