81-Year-Old Man Hit While Crossing Summit Intersection: Police
The man was hit by a car on Sunday while walking on a crosswalk. Police said he is currently in stable condition.

SUMMIT, NJ — An elderly man was hit by a car while crossing an intersection in Summit on Sunday at around 5:17 p.m., police said.
The 81-year-old Summit man was walking on the crosswalk at Mountain Avenue at the intersection of Larned Road when he was hit, police said. After the accident, the man was rushed to Morristown Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said he is in stable condition.

The person driving the car was a 72-year-old Maplewood man. Police said he was driving eastbound on Mountain Avenue when due to "environmental conditions" he failed to observe the pedestrian on the sidewalk.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk at the scene.
