Anonymous Works Being Auctioned Off To Support Arts In Summit

There is no limit on the amount of items each bidder can win.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Public Art organization is looking to help the community find new favorite artists and release new works into the downtown area.

On Friday, the group is holding its "Evening of Anonymous Art" from 7 to 10 p.m. at Twin Maples located at 214 Springfield Ave. More than 100 works will be on display without an artist credit beside them.

The names behind the works will be released after they are bought at the event. Each will be sold for a flat rate of $100. Tickets for entry are also $100.

Only six slots will be available for viewers to put their names down for each work. At 9 p.m., lists will close and winners will be determined by the roll of a die with corresponding numbers assigned to each name on the list.

There is no limit on the amount of items each bidder can win.

The money raised during the event helps fund Summit Public Art's goal of bringing art out into communities to enjoy. The funds directly go towards an honorarium to help artists design, move, and install permanent or temporary works throughout Downtown Summit.
