'Arts & Cars' Festival Coming To Downtown Summit
The paint and pedals are only the beginning of what the day has to offer.
SUMMIT, NJ — The streets of Downtown Summit will be filled with bright colors and hot wheels on Sunday, Sept. 21, as it hosts the "Arts & Cars: Downtown Art Festival & Potter's Car Show."
The showcases will be joined by a lineup of live entertainment at multiple stages throughout the day. The Bank Street parking lot will serve as both a venue for performances and a beer and wine garden, sponsored by Summit's own Cambridge Wines and Peerless Beverage Co. The downtown festival is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is entirely family-friendly. Kids are also welcome in the beer garden, which will have activities and games for all ages.

Paintings, sculptures, jewelry and more will be on display outdoors along Springfield Avenue between Beechwood Road and Summit Avenue. Works will also be available to purchase.
Car Show and Competition

The Classic & Exotic Car Show is sponsored by Summit's "Peotter's Auto Body & Spa," and will take place beginning at Bank Street and Summit Avenue. Six different categories of submissions will compete for trophies, including "People's Choice," "Best in Show," "Best Electric Vehicle," "Best 4-Door," "Best 2-Door," "Most Unique," and "Peotter's Top 10."

Live Music
Six performers will play at three different stages throughout the day. The main stage is located at the intersection of Beechwood Road and Springfield Avenue. The beer and wine garden Stage is located in the Bank Street Parking Lot.
The main stage performances include "Four the Record" (10 a.m. to noon), "Carnival Dogs" (noon to 2 p.m.), and the "Maura Glynn Band" (2 to 4 p.m.). Beth Sherby will be at the beer garden stage from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., along with "Firepit" who will take over from 1:30 to 4 p.m. DJ Paul Fessock, or "Mr. Socks," will be live from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Summit train station.
Other Activities
Kids are invited to visit the ballon artist, photo booth, or face painting areas throughout the day. There will also be RC car racing, miniature golf stations, a robot display and more brought to the community by organizations like the Summit YMCA and Summit Public Library.

Food and Drink
More than five food trucks will line the streets on Sunday, including Angry Arches, Just Delicious Kettle Corn, Puras Paletas, Sandwicheria, Jacks Surf and Turf, and Pizza Vita. The Bank Street beer and wine garden opens at 11 a.m., and will require those 21 and over to have a wristband in order to purchase drinks. Guests will be able to bring food from the food trucks or any downtown restaurants into the beer garden to enjoy. Drink tickets are only available for purchase by cash, and can be bought at the entrance at Lyric Park on Beechwood Road.
The Summit Farmers market located at 22 DeForest Ave. will also be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
