Cat Hit By Car In Summit, Police Searching For Owner

Summit Police found the dead cat near Kent Place School on Saturday. Officers are currently searching for the owner.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit Police announced Saturday on Facebook that a cat was hit by a car near Kent Place School, and upon arrival the cat was found dead.

Police said officers are certain this is a house cat and are trying to locate the owner. The accident occurred on the 400 block of Morris Avenue, Police said.

The cat is described as a healthy, well-groomed, large male, gray/tan tabby with white paws and no collar.

If residents recognize this cat, they are advise to call Summit Police Department's non-emergency number at 908-273-0051 and ask for the supervisor.
