The Summit Symphony Orchestra has been performing at least once every year, dating back to its beginnings in 1938. The Summit Board of Recreation formed the group to provide non-professional musicians a place to read music and perform together during concerts that would be free to the residents of Summit and the surrounding region.

The current season also includes performances in March 2026 and May 2026.
