SUMMIT, NJ — Is life a cabaret? Well, perhaps you can listen to teen voices and get your minds off your troubles at Summit's Village Green, at least for a moment.

Tickets are now on sale for the Summit High School theater program's outdoor show, a fundraiser called "Cabaret on the Green 2021, An Evening with the Stars!" on Village Green next week.

Each teen performer will sing a Broadway song.

The show will be performed Friday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., and "Social distancing and sitting with your family pods is encouraged."

This is a major fundraiser for the SHS Theater Program. The organizers say, "Please bring cash as our talented performers will be passing the hat during the show to ask for additional donations. There will also be a Txt2Give option for donations."

Adult tickets will be $30 each; student tickets are $20.

"Feel free to bring a blanket or some low-backed chairs to sit on to enjoy this beautiful night of music," say organizers. "And if you want to double down on your support for the theater program, two of Summit's favorite restaurants, Zappia's and The Office, will be donating 15 percent of all lunch and dinner orders between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the day of the show. This applies to all dine-in and takeout orders on Oct. 15 only. Just show the attached flyer when you place your order."

So whether or not you are able to attend the actual event, you can still show your support by dining at those restaurants on the 15th.
