The Mitten Tree is a holiday tradition at Summit's . The tree stands in the school's main entrance and is decorated with student donations of warm hats, mittens, and scarves that will be distributed to local needy children. The Mitten Tree is coordinated by Jefferson's student council members and their advisors Joy Giamalva and Patricia Natale.
