Kady Glynn Saves Summit in Girls Lacrosse Final

Goalie makes 11 saves, including two clutch stops late to lift Hilltoppers to North Jersey Group 2 title.

The Summit High girls lacrosse team fended off a feverish Chatham rally to hold on for a 9-8 win Wednesday in the North Jersey Group 2 championship.

Goalies Kady Glynn of Summit and Hannah Reader of Chatham played major roles in what was a battle on the field. Reader had 12 saves to Glynn’s 11 but the difference was a pair of momentum-crushing saves by Glynn late in the second half.

“It was a really tough game and I was a bit nervous at the end but my team played well and I knew I had to help them out and make saves,” said Glynn.

After leading 7-5 at the half, Summit came out and quickly scored a pair of goals early in the second half.

“Once you get behind against a team like Summit, it is definitely going to be an uphill battle for the rest of the game,” said Chatham coach Hillary Renna. “These girls were able to come together throughout the season and they just never ever gave up. I am so, so proud of them.”
