Safety Concerns Eliminate Some Parking In Summit: See Where (patch.com) — Summit drivers will see new no-parking zones after the Common Council unanimously approved Ordinance 25-3365, prompted by police and community service safety recommendations. Several stretches of Bedford Road, Broad Street, New England Avenue, and Weaver Street near Summit High School and Christ Church now prohibit parking to improve visibility and traffic flow, with church-area concerns slated for further review.

Summit Board Reviews Budget, Healthcare, Grants and Academic Initiatives (tapinto.net) — Summit’s Board of Education just reviewed key budget pressures, healthcare cost trends, and new academic initiatives that will shape local schools, while also announcing several important leadership changes at Brayton Elementary. Classes will run half-days at Wilson Primary Center, with tiered tuition based on lunch eligibility and a livestreamed lottery drawing in January 2026.

Atlantic Health treats first patient in Northeast for brain tumor with new cellular immunotherapy (roi-nj.com) — A Summit-based team at Overlook Medical Center is helping treat the first patient in the Northeast with a cutting-edge cellular immunotherapy for glioblastoma, coordinated with Morristown Medical Center. Doctors say this personalized treatment, part of a Phase 2 clinical trial, could significantly improve survival and quality of life for people facing this aggressive brain cancer, all while keeping advanced care close to home.
