'The Little Mermen' Summit Concert Postponed Due To Rainy Forecast
The concert will now take place Thursday, as thunderstorms and extreme heat are predicted in Summit Tuesday night.
SUMMIT, NJ — Tuesday night's concert featuring The Little Mermen has been postponed due to a 50 percent chance of rain and extreme heat, according to the Department of Community Programs.
The concert, sponsored by Investors Bank, will now be held on Thursday, Aug. 11 before the movie screening of "Paw Patrol." The movie and concert will be held on the Village Green at 356 Broad Street.
According to the National Weather Service, showers and possibly a thunderstorm are likely before 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County is also under a heat advisory, as a high of 94 degrees is predicted.

Based in New York City, The Little Mermen is a Disney cover band founded by singer-songwriter Alexis Babini with the goal of bringing Disney-fueled nostalgia and singalongs to a generation that grew up on Disney.

The Summit movie and concert double-header will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
