Longtime Summit Resident Susan McCallum Dies At Age 69

McCallum resided in Summit for 30 years and was deeply dedicated to her family and community.

SUMMIT, NJ — Susan Ellen McCallum, a 30-year Summit resident, passed away on Dec. 8, 2021 — surrounded by her loving family.

McCallum of Kiawah Island, South Carolina, died at age 69 and is remembered for her kind and thoughtful spirit, as well as her endless dedication to her family and community.

She was the wife of John McCallum, and the two spent 45 globe-trotting and adventure filled years together.

Born on November 24, 1952, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Susan was the daughter of RAF Veteran Frederick William Jack and his loving wife Dorothy Evelyn Jack of Saskatoon.

McCallum's love for her family was seen as she cheered everyone on at countless horse shows, hockey, lacrosse, and field hockey games. She also found time to support and fundraise for numerous worthy causes.

In addition to her loving husband, Susan is survived by her three children Katherine, Christopher (wife Lauren) and Jennifer (husband Matt), as well as four grandchildren — Bennett, Owen, Addison and Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Susan’s memory may be sent to Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit, NJ.
