High School Assistant Principal Position Available - February 2014 

Opening for 1 of our 2 Assistant Principal positions in an excellent 9-12 high school .  Summit High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school with an enrollment of 1201.  Summit High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of College and Secondary Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education. 

Seeking a dynamic leader with excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills to be part of a strong leadership team at Summit High School. This person should be an experienced high school educator who is well grounded in current pedagogy related to supervision, teacher evaluation and student behavior.  Organization and data analysis skills are key qualifications. An understanding of guidance and counseling and special education is important for this role. Experience with PowerSchool, scheduling and standardized testing is preferred.

Tennis coach/instructor: TGA Premier Junior Tennis runs a National Junior Tennis Program that specializes in at-school after school tennis enrichment classes for PK-8th grade elementary and middle school students. All enrichment classes take place on school campuses during the after school time period, usually starting around 3:00pm, and last 1-2 hours. All classes start with an instructional seminar before students are split into groups and practice. Depending on the area, there are 3-8 classes per week. Applicants must be enthusiastic, available in the afternoon, have a reliable source of transportation, and have experience working with children. Previous tennis instruction experience is preferred but not required because TGA provides extensive curriculum training. TGA employees also have the opportunity to work at weekend events, clinics and tournaments that take place on weekends at local tennis courts.
