Summit Community Programs Director Wins World Waterpark Award

Judith Leblein Josephs has won the award more than a dozen times during her career.

The Summit Department of Community Programs is proud to announce that their Director, Judith Leblein Josephs was named as the recipient of the World Waterpark Association’s Best Speaker Award for 2013. No stranger to this award, Ms. Josephs has captured this crown more than a dozen times over her career.

The award was announced following the World Waterpark Conference held recently in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ms. Leblein Josephs is a proud member of the World Waterpark Hall of Fame. She was inducted in 2003 at the conference in Palm Springs, California. Judith has been the recipient of the WWA’s Industry Leader Award and Splash Review Award among others.

Ms. Josephs is a member of the WWA Faculty and has taught the course, “Ready, Set, Go!” a Guide to Getting Started for the past 15 years. Entrepreneurs and developers who look to become involved in the industry register annually for this event.

With the Summit Department of Community Programs since 2007, Ms. Leblein Josephs is in charge of the award-winning Summit Family Aquatic Center among other responsibilities. Ms. Josephs spent her childhood enjoying the public pools of her home town of Newark, NJ. She dreamt of one day being a Mermaid at Weeki Wachie while swimming as a child at Boylan Street Pool. She never did become a mermaid, but has sure inspired others to learn how to swim.

Aquatics and all things recreation are her passion. She is known throughout the industry for her entertaining yet, informative educational sessions on aquatics operations, marketing, management, public speaking and leadership. She has been published in industry journals and is known internationally for her novel approaches to aquatics planning, corporate partnering and program development. Ms. Josephs is not one to shy away from a camera or a microphone. She also enjoyed a career in talk radio and regional television.
