Summit Free Market Back Just in Time for Halloween
Bring unwanted, reusable items to share, and take what you want — Oct. 22, 29, and Nov. 5

It’s the time of year everyone has been waiting for—Summit Free Market is back! The event will take place at the Transfer Station on upcoming Saturdays October 22nd, 29th, and November 5th, from 8 am to 3 pm. Summit residents are welcome to bring unwanted, reusable items to share, and take whatever they want. It’s all free!
The first Saturday, October 22nd, will be a special Halloween-themed event, where a special section will be set aside for wearable costumes, decorations, and any other fall-themed household items in good condition. Have some old costumes you’ll never wear again? Looking for your next creative costume or inspiration? The Summit Free Market will be the perfect place to look.
The Summit Free Market is a student-run initiative planned and led by a group of Summit High School students with volunteer help on the day of the event from the Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School students. Seasonal events are held every fall and spring at the Transfer Station on New Providence Ave., in addition to the online www.summitfreemarket.org that is available year-round. To date, the Summit Free Market has saved over 46 tons of unwanted, reusable items from landfills or the incinerator since its creation in 2009.
Who knows? Maybe that finishing touch to your living room or your latest creative inspiration will come from Summit Free Market. Hope to see you there!
