Summit Resident to Appear on Oprah Network This Week
Kara Richardson Whitely, who has achieved wide recognition for her book "Fat Woman on the Mountain" spoke to Oprah Winfrey about guilt and weight for a show on the OWN network.

The personal journey that took a Summit mom up Mount Kilimanjaro is far from over. Kara Richardson Whitely's next stop: Oprah's "Lifeclass." Richardson Whitely sent out an email blast to folks who follow her "Fat Woman on the Mountain" website.
She expects the latest episode, which airs at 10 p.m. on Sunday July 29, to feature portions of a Skype chat with Winfrey. However, she's not completely sure about the final product.
"I don't know how much of my story will remain in the final cut of the episode," she wrote.

Tune in Sunday!
Here's a photo of me just before Skyping in to talk with Oprah on Lifeclass.
Perhaps you remember a few months back when I shared that I would be Skyping in to talk with Oprah for her Lifeclass show. Well, I finally have an airdate for you: 10 p.m. EST on Sunday (July 29) on OWN.
(If you need help finding OWN on your TV, follow this link --http://www.oprah.com/own - and click on "Find OWN on TV.")
I was asked to share my experience with guilt and weight with Oprah. The show ran rather long so I don't know how much of my story will remain in the final cut of the episode.
No matter how it was edited, it was an amazing experience. At the very least, you should be able to see me on the Skype wall.
I will be live Tweeting during the show. My Twitter handle is @fatwmnonthemtn
Once I find out more about watching the show online, I will post it via Twitter and on Facebook.
Thank you again for joining me on this journey. It means the world to me. Happy Trails,
