Summit’s Annual Earth Day Cleanup Returns In 2023

Want to help beautify the city during the annual Earth Day celebration? Here's how to get the whole family involved:

SUMMIT, NJ - Want to help beautify the city during the annual Earth Day celebration, and spend the day with the family while doing it?

Hosted by the Summit Environmental Commission, the city’s annual Earth Day Cleanup welcomes Summit residents and nearby locals of all ages and abilities to help beautify city parks and open spaces. This year, the event will take place on Saturday,
April 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.

A rain date is set for Sunday, April 23.

Volunteers should bring work gloves and a beverage in a reusable container.

Participants may volunteer on the day of the event at Briant Park or Martin’s Brook Park. To participate as a group, email event organizers at summitearthdaycleanup@gmail.com prior to the event to be assigned to a cleanup site.

Community service hours are available. Attendees should bring relevant forms with them to the cleanup site to be signed by event organizers.

Students in grades 8 to 12 may volunteer without a parent or guardian with a signed permission form.
