Summit Teacher Wins University Of Chicago 'Outstanding Educator' Award
This Summit educator has taught at Summit Public Schools for 21 years and directs all of the Summit High School theater productions.

SUMMIT, NJ — A longtime Summit educator recently received the prestigious University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award, according to announcement from the district Monday.
Anne Poyner has taught at Summit Public Schools for 21 years and now teach theater and directs all of the Summit High School productions. She also is the coach of the Speech Team at the high school.
"An Outstanding Educator shapes young minds in meaningful ways—thoughtfully approaching instruction, sharing an infectious love for learning, and caring for students both inside and outside of the classroom," the district stated.

Each year, newly admitted University of Chicago students have the opportunity to reflect on their time in school and nominate an educator who played a significant role in their education, made a positive impact in their lives and whose influence has brought them to where they are today.
These nominees are "exceptional in their field" and "role models for all students," according to the University.

All award winners receive a commemorative award, certificate and letter that includes details from the student they were nominated by.
