Summit Voter Guide 2022: Who's Running, Where To Vote
The primary election is coming up on June 7. Find out who's on the ballot and where you can vote in Summit this year:

SUMMIT, NJ — The primary election is only a month away, and Summit residents will be able to cast their votes on city and county races.
This year's primary in Summit is uncontested, as two council members are running for re-election unopposed.
Candidates running for Summit Common Council in the primary are as follows:

- Incumbent Danny O'Sullivan (Democrat): Ward 1
- Incumbent Lisa Allen (Republican): Ward 2
The Summit Common Council consists of seven members. Each of the two wards has three representatives, and one member serves "at large." The ward seats carry three-year terms; the at-large seat is two years.
Both O'Sullivan and Allen's terms are up this year.

When To Vote
The deadline for voter registration is May 17 — 21 days before the primary election.
The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is is May 31 — seven days before the election. In-person submission of mail-in ballots must be submitted by 8 p.m. on June 7.
The deadline for submission of mail-in ballots by mail that do not bear a postmark is June 9, no later than 48 hours after the polls close, according to the Union County Board of Elections.
Early voting will also take place June 3-5 for the primary election. Voting hours are Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

There are seven Early Voting locations around Union County:
- Cranford: Union County College, 1033 Springfield Avenue, Nomahegan Building, Room N4 (Near Guard Booth: Parking in Lot 1)
- Elizabeth: Sampson Center, 800 Anna Street
- New Providence: DeCorso Community Center, 15 E. 4th Street
- Plainfield: Union County College, Church Street, Between E. 3rd & E. 4th
- Rahway: Rahway Recreation Center, 275 E. Milton Ave, Room 112
- Roselle: Amalfe Community Center, 1268 Shaffer Avenue
- Union: Union Twp. Senior Center (relocated), 652 Rahway Avenue
