Summit Warns About Power Outages As Gusty Winds Are Expected

SUMMIT, NJ — It may be unseasonably warm in Summit today, but the local energy company is prepping for storm-like conditions tonight.

Summit posted a warning on Facebook from JCP&L utility service, cautioning customers that gusty winds could impact service tonight. The message urged residents to stay at least 30 feet from all downed or low-hanging power lines.

Winds in Summit could get up to 15 mph with a low chance of rain.

Downed power lines should be reported to police.
