Third Summit Pedestrian Hit By Car This Week: Police

A 22-year-old man was hit while crossing Summit Ave. Wednesday evening, police said. This is the third pedestrian hit by a car this week.

SUMMIT, NJ — A 22-year-old Summit man was hit by a car while crossing Summit Avenue on Wednesday, according to police.

This is the third pedestrian that has been hit while crossing a road in Summit this week. A 76-year-old man and an 81-year-old man were previously hit by cars while walking across marked crosswalks on Sunday and Monday.

The latest incident occurred on Wednesday at around 6:36 p.m. Police said the Summit man was not in a crosswalk when he stepped into the street and was hit by a car that was traveling north on Summit Avenue.

The man refused medical attention and was issued a summons at the scene, police said,

There were no injuries reported by the driver of the vehicle, according to police.
