An Unforgettable Afternoon of Mozart and Beethoven

The Junior League of Summit, The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey and Keys 2 Success are joining forces once again for a concert collaboration that promises to be a one-of-a-kind musical experience. The concert will take place on Sunday April 2, 2023 at 2PM at the Dolan Hall of St. Elizabeth University, located at 2 Convent Road, Morristown New Jersey.

Classical music enthusiasts and fans of community-driven initiatives alike may remember their first collaboration together back in 2019. This year, audience members will be in for yet another enchanting afternoon.

"It’s always important to be a part of the community, especially for the young artists of Keys 2 Success," said Maestro Robert Butts of the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey. "It’s a really unique experience because the concert should impart all the musicians with a feeling of inspiration.”

The collaboration will feature a range of classical pieces. The concert will feature internationally acclaimed pianist, Beatrice Long, performing Mozart Concerto in C major, K. 467. This beautiful concerto is often used in films such as Superman Returns, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Elvira Madigan. The young students will be performing “Tis A Gift”, a piece co-composed by Maestro Butts and Elijah Souels, Keys 2 Success Composer-in-Residence. Also not to be missed will be the performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony #1 which was premiered exactly 223 years ago on 2 April 1800 in Vienna.

"This is not just a concert, it's a celebration of the power of music to bring people together and create positive change. We have no doubt that it’ll be an evening to remember.”

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey was founded in 1996 by Maestro Robert Butts, who has developed it into New Jersey’s leading collaborative ensemble. Keys 2 Success was founded in 2016 by Juilliard-trained MIT engineer, Jee-Hoon Krska, to deliver free quality music education to students in Newark in places where the students are already gathered in their neighborhoods.
