Valve Replacement Work By NJ American Water Postponed (Updated)
A section of Passaic Avenue will be closed due to construction that starts this week in Summit.
SUMMIT, NJ — Update from City of Summit: The New Jersey American Water valve replacement project at the intersection of Passaic Avenue and West End Avenue that was scheduled to begin on Friday, Nov. 11, has been postponed due to weather. We will provide the new project date once it has been rescheduled.
New Jersey American Water is set to perform valve replacement work in Summit starting this week.
The work will take place at the intersection of Passaic Avenue and West End Avenue beginning on Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13.

Passaic Avenue will be closed between Kent Place Boulevard and Springfield Avenue for the duration of project work, according to the city.
Summit Police will be onsite to direct traffic and detours will be posted.

Work will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and continue until the expected completion date on Sunday at 5 a.m.
The project timeline is subject to change, weather permitting.
