Woman in Wheelchair Nearly Hit at Morris Avenue Intersection

The reported minor accident occurred Tuesday afternoon. She was transported to Overlook Medical Center, but had no visible injuries.

On Tuesday afternoon a woman in a wheelchair was nearly struck by a vehicle near Morris Avenue and Ashwood Avenue according to reports. The woman was not injured in the accident, but according to the Summit First Aid Squad's John Staunton, she did ask to be transported to Overlook Medical Center for evaluation.

Reports suggest the incident was minor and that the woman came in close contact with a vehicle in the roadway. The woman's identity is not known at this time, and neither is the identity of the driver or the type of vehicle that was involved.

Calls to the Summit Police Department were not returned.
