The victims were walking home from Young Israel of Teaneck on July 12 when they were sprayed with water from people who drove by in a car.
TEANECK, NJ — Three people were charged with harassment after two synagogue congregants were sprayed with water from a moving car July 12, police said.
Water was sprayed from the car onto the victims, the chief said. One victim yelled at the vehicle to stop and one of the occupants "made an anti-Semitic comment" before the vehicle left, said Chief Glenn M. O'Reilly.
Matthew A. Davis, Tyrell N. Culver, both 21, and Michael A. Davis, 23, all of Teaneck, were arrested and each charged with two counts of harassment after police investigated a report of a possible bias incident, the chief said.

An investigation led police to the home of Matthew and Michael Davis, who, together with Culver, admitted spraying the victims with water, O'Reilly said.
There was not enough evidence to charge the three with bias intimidation, the chief said.
