Bergen County Opens Cooling Centers
Scorching heat predicted across North Jersey, officials warn.

Four cooling centers have been opened around Bergen County as the heat index is expected to soar, officials said.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Bergen County from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Heat coupled with humidity is expected to make it feel as hot as 104 degrees.
Residents who need rides can call Community Transportation at (201) 368-5955.
The centers, open through Wednesday 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., will operate as needed:
