Englewood Man Disappears From Manhattan Office

Despite a vigorous outreach campaign, an Englewood man who disappeared from his midtown Manhattan office on May 8 remains missing. 

Friends and family are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of 25-year-old Curtis Aukshunas to contact Englewood authorities.

"He was just gone. He left his office building and that's all we know," his wife, Robyn Trovati, said in an interview Sunday. "We're just kind of waiting."

Aukshunas, 25, was last spotted leaving his 51st Street/7th Avenue Manhattan office at approximately 12:30 p.m. on May 8. He never returned to PNB Paribus, where he worked as a financial analyst.

Six-foot-three and roughly 165 pounds, Aukshunas was wearing a dark gray suit and white shirt at the time of his disappearance. Trovati has created a website (helpfindcurtis.com) and Facebook and Twitter pages in hopes of facilitating his return. 

His phone has been off since May 8 and his credit cards have not been used, his wife said.

His wife doesn't know if foul play could be responsible for Aukshunas' disappearance but said she doesn't believe he would have vanished to start life anew.

"I want to dispel the idea that strangers naturally have that he in any way wanted to escape because that couldn't be further from the truth," she said. "We have a beautiful life."

Things were going very well at his job, according to Trovati, who added that Aukshunas worked "very reasonable hours" and made it back to their Englewood home each night. Despite working in the city, he preferred the quieter confines of Englewood.

She described her husband – originally from Southern California with family still residing in the area – as an avid distance runner, bread baker, and vegetable gardener who loved fostering animals. 

Trovati said they were an extremely close couple and had made long-term plans to own a small farm in the future.

"We were inseparable, totally inseparable," she said. "Even when we would be at work, we'd be talking all day. There's nothing I wouldn't know about. The impression other couples and people had of us is we were unusually close and happy."
