The Crescent Foods Cooking Challenge is scheduled to be held outside the Teaneck Armory July 7, <a href="http://blog.northjersey.com/secondhelpings/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">the Second Helpings blog</a> reported.  The <a href="http://halalfoodtour.com/events/new-york-new-jersey/crescent-foods-cooking-challenge/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">competition pits four teams of local chefs</a> against each other to find the next Crescent Foods Cooking Challenge champion, according to HalalFoodTour.com. "Each team will be provided with fresh ingredients, including one secret ingredient, to prepare tasty dishes for three celebrity judges to enjoy," the site says. Judges will include Sameer S. Sarmast, executive producer of Sameer's Eats and Blogger and Chef Yvonne Maffei of My Halal Kitchen. The daylong event in Teaneck will feature 20 halal food vendors, music and comedians.
