Man Struck, Killed By Commuter Train In Bergen County: Officials
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a New Jersey Transit passenger train Wednesday morning, officials said.

HACKENSACK, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a commuter rail train just before 10 a.m. Wednesday near Essex Street in Hackensack, New Jersey Transit Public Relations Director Jim Smith said.
Operated by the Hoboken Division of New Jersey Transit, the Pascack Valley Line westbound train was en route to New Bridge Landing in River Edge, when it hit the man near the Essex Street station, Smith said.
No injuries were reported to the train's one customer or the crew on board, Smith said.
