New Year's Greenway Walk Planned in Teaneck
First in a series of events offered by Friends of the Greenway.
The following was submitted by the Friends of the Greenway:
Friends of the Greenway will lead a walk along the Brett Park portion of the Hackensack River Greenway through Teaneck on New Year’s Day (Tuesday, January 1) at 11 am. The Friends of the Greenway sponsor this annual free event. Among the changes since last year are the plantings along the riverbank and the new vista. On the walk participants will look for land animals, birds especially native species.
Participants will gather at the Teaneck end of the old bridge, across the river from the Steuben House. Look for the green sign marking the entrance to Teaneck’s Greenway. To get there, go north on River Road and at the end of Brett Park, just before New Milford, turn left on Riverview Avenue. The walk will last about one and a half hour, depending on the weather, although participants can easily leave at any point. Dress appropriately, including footwear that can get wet.
