Pipe-Wielding Teen Vandalizes Bathroom, Burglarizes Home: Teaneck Cops

A 19-year-old stands accused of inflicting $2,000 worth of damages to a Teaneck park bathroom, officials said.

TEANECK, NJ — A teenager seen wielding a metal pipe was arrested this week on charges that he smashed up a Teaneck park bathroom and broke down an acquaintance's front door, police officials said.

Steve Monegro, 19, armed himself with a metal pipe when he vandalized a Milton A. Votee Park field house bathroom on Jan. 11 then burglarized a West Englewood Avenue home one week later, police Chief Andrew McGurr contends.

Monegro left the bathroom with holes in the drywall, broken toilet paper dispensers, and damaged toilet stall frames officials estimate it will cost $2,000 to repair, said the police chief.
