Power Restored To Thousands Of Teaneck Residents: PSE&G Spokesperson

A power outage that left thousands of PSE&G customers without electricity was attributed to equipment failures, the utility said.

TEANECK, NJ — Public Service Enterprise Group said power is back on for thousands of customers in Teaneck, after equipment failures, at least one of which was caused by a fire, occurred, according to utility spokesperson Rebecca Mazzarella.

"Crews worked throughout the night and have restored power to all of the customers," Mazzarella said late Thursday night.

Approximately 4,800 PSE&G customers lost power after a fire at the Teaneck station Wednesday afternoon. Shortly afterward, a nearby underground vault experienced "multiple equipment failures," and approximately 800 customers were without power while crews worked to fix the facilities, the spokesperson said.
