Teaneck Apartment Fire Erupts, Residents Displaced: Officials
Residents of the Teaneck apartment found themselves temporarily without a home after a fire broke out Friday morning, officials said.
TEANECK, NJ — A fire erupted inside a Teaneck apartment Friday morning and left the people who live there temporarily without a home, according to authorities.
Flames broke out in a sixth floor apartment at 140 West Englewood Ave. about 10:20 a.m., police Capt. Seth Kriegel said.
The cause of the fire remains unclear but investigators believe an electric space heater or power strip may have been involved, Kriegel said.

After township fire crews extinguished the blaze, Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents, police said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, and the rest of the apartment building's residents were able to return to their homes.
