Road Closures Planned in Teaneck

Traffic to be diverted on sections of Cedar Lane and Palisade Avenue

Portions of two main roadways in Teaneck will be closed in the days ahead, according to the township.

Cedar Lane will be blocked to through traffic from Queen Anne Road to Palisade Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, police said. No major delays are expected, but motorists were advised to use alternate routes.

An ongoing project to upgrade Teaneck’s electricity substation will force police to close Palisade Avenue between Dewey Place and Colonial Court Thursday and Friday, according to the township.

“Access to the Rodda Center and Colonial Court Parking lot will be maintained from the north. During this time PSE&G will use a crane to set a transformer. PSE&G will work with Teaneck police to minimize the traffic interruptions,” an announcement from the town said.

Public Service Electric and Gas said utility service would not be interrupted by the project. The company has been working to replace its Palisade Avenue substation in an effort to increase the reliability for area electricity customers.
