Teaneck, Englewood Fire Unions Back Pascrell
Congressman touts support for first responders

Ninth District Rep. Bill Pascrell picked up the support of several North Jersey firefighter unions, including organizations in Teaneck and Englewood, his campaign announced Thursday.
“I am grateful for the continued support of firefighters for my campaign. These are the men and women who put their own lives at stake to save others. To have these brave men and women supporting my campaign means everything to me. I look forward to continuing to fight on their behalf in Washington, D.C.,” Pascrell said in a statement.
Pascrell, an incumbent Democrat, authored the Firefighter Investment and Response Enhancement Act, which provides grant money to local fire departments.
The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey and Bergen Fire Academy Professional Firefighters Association were also among groups to announce support for the congressman. Earlier this week, area police unions endorsed Pascrell.
“I have made it a priority of mine to bolster federal support for the jobs our police officers and firefighters do for the benefit of all communities. I am grateful for their support,” he said.
Pascrell, of Paterson, is running against Englewood Republican Rabbi Shmuley Boteach in the redrawn 9th district.
