Teaneck Native Zach Freemantle Named Preseason All-Big East

Zach Freemantle, a forward at Xavier University, was selected to the preseason All-Big East first team. He is a Bergen Catholic graduate.

CINCINNATI, OH — Xavier University forward Zach Freemantle has been named to the preseason All-Big East first team, the conference announced this week.

Freemantle, a Teaneck native and graduate of Bergen Catholic, is a junior coming off a sophomore campaign in which he garnered second team All-Big East honors, and won the conference's Most Improved Player award.

He led the team in scoring at 16.1 points per game, good for fifth in the conference, while grabbing nearly nine rebounds a game, the conference's top mark.

Freemantle begun garnering awards after his freshmen campaign, when he was named to the Big East All-Freshmen team.

While averaging 17 points per game at Bergen Catholic, Freemantle was tabbed a four-star prospect and, as a senior, earned First Team All-State, All-League, All-County and All-North Jersey.
