Peace Vigil to Mark 12th Anniversary of War in Afghanistan

Group wants Americans pulled from Afghanistan this year and money used for domestic issues.

Veterans, military families, and residents from around the area will gather Wednesday at the Teaneck National Guard Armory to hold a vigil marking the 12th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan.

The Teaneck Peace Vigil, which holds rallies outside the armory every Wednesday, said the event will include a press conference to call for the removal of all American troops and contractors from Afghanistan this year. The group also wants war funding to go toward domestic causes.

The peace vigil is scheduled from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Teaneck Road and Liberty Road.
