Teaneck Youth Advisory Board Begins 6th Year of Service

YAB also looking for new members

The following item was submitted by the Teaneck Youth Advisory Board: 

 

On December 6, 2012 the Teaneck Youth Advisory Board (YAB) reconvened for a remarkable 6th consecutive year. These outstanding students will continue their efforts in bridging the gap between the Teaneck Township officials and the youth of the community.

This year's group consists of many dedicated members who have been participating for several years, as well as newly appointed members. In attendance were the YAB adult advisors David Highet, Keisha Mclean, and Scott Pleasants, Council member Lizette Parker, the Township's liaison, introduced Andrew Richardson, Assistant Director, Teaneck Recreation Department. These community minded adults will continue to assist the youth members in identifying specific goals that will lead to several action items throughout Teaneck.

The Youth Advisory Board will be planning their annual youth forum. This is an event when they meet with other teenagers and take their concerns and recommendations back to the Mayor and Councilmembers. The YAB is always interested in new members.
