Teens Arrested After Spate Of Car Burglaries In Teaneck: Police
Three teens, one with a gun, stand accused of burglarizing cars in Teaneck, Bogata and Hackensack, police said.
TEANECK, NJ — A rash of overnight car burglaries in Teaneck and nearby towns landed three teens — one just 15 — in handcuffs, police officials said.
The teens — ages 19, 16 and 15 — were arrested Thursday after police stopped a suspicious vehicle and found one the boys had a 9mm handgun, acting police Chief Andrew McGurr said.
More than a dozen burglaries were reported overnight Wednesday in Teaneck, Bogota and Hackensack, police said.

The teen with the gun was charged with possession of a handgun, a large-capacity magazine and hollow-nose ammunition then remanded to the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.
The remaining teenagers were released to family members.

The teens were seen peering into vehicles — one which later appeared to have been burglarized — near Audubon Road just after midnight Thursday, police said.
Teaneck Police Department reminded residents to "do their part" to prevent motor vehicle burglary and theft by "locking their doors, not leaving key fobs in vehicles, and securing valuables inside their homes."
