Water tankers setup during service shut off, company says.

More United Water customers in the River Road-area are set to lose water service for ten hours starting Wednesday night when crews shut down a 30-inch water main, the utility company announced.

Residents on Roemer Avenue, from River Road to The Boulevard, will be without service beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, the company said in a statement. United Water announced Tuesday it planned to shut off service for 120 customers west of River Road, between Cedar Lane and New Bridge Road.

Six customers on Ogden Avenue will also be impacted, United Water said. Water service is expected to be restored by 8 a.m. Thursday, the company said.

“Water tankers will be provided at the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus and at the park located at River Road and Riverview Road for customers affected by the shutdown,” the company said. “All affected customers are being notified individually. We apologize for the inconvenience, as we work diligently to make the repairs as quickly as possible.”

Road closures are in place on River Road, between Cedar Lane and Ramapo Road, until 8 a.m. Thursday, according to Teaneck police.
