Atlantic Avenue In Wall Remains Closed After Utility Pole Downed

JCP&L says repair crews are working on damage to a utility pole and wires on Atlantic Avenue; 32 outages now left.

WALL, NJ — Jersey Central Power & Light is repairing a power outage after a utility pole and wires were downed on Atlantic Avenue Wednesday, police said.

An estimated 1,285 customers in Wall were affected, but JCP&L says service is restored as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to all but 32 customers, according to a spokesman, Chris Hoenig.

Atlantic Avenue is temporarily closed in both directions for repairs between Route 35 and Landmark Place, police said in recent posts. Police said the road was still closed as of 6:30 p.m. and detours were being put in place. No specifics were available on the reason for the downed pole.

Also, in an unrelated matter, Allenwood Lakewood Road was closed from West Side Drive to Metedeconk Road for a motor vehicle accident investigation, police said. That road should reopen soon, police said at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
