Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Car Collision On Route 35 In Wall
A Brielle man, 66, was injured in a collision with a car Tuesday afternoon and was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
WALL, NJ — A bicyclist, 66, was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon in Wall and was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
At about 3:51 p.m., Wall police went to the intersection of Route 35 and Lakewood Road for the report of the injured bicyclist.
According to police, a 66 year-old Brielle man was traveling east on Lakewood Road, operating an “E-bike.” He entered the intersection with Route 35 where he collided with a Volkswagen operated by a 36 year-old Toms River woman. The woman was traveling south on Route 35.

The bicyclist was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune by Wall Township Emergency Medical Services and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson with serious injuries.
South Wall Fire Department also responded to the scene to provide medical support.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation Emergency Response Team responded to
provide traffic safety support while investigators from the Wall Township Police Department,
Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Monmouth
County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) processed the scene.
Traffic was diverted in the area for approximately two hours.
The Wall Township Police Department is asking that anyone who may have witnessed
the collision or has any information to contact Patrolman Megan Alexander or Capt. Chad
Clark of the Wall Township Police Department at 732-449-4500.
The investigation is ongoing.
