Brief Evacuation At Wall High School After Faulty Smoke Alert

On the first day back to class, Wall High School had to be evacuated after a fire alarm went off due to a faulty smoke detector head.

WALL, NJ — Classes went back to normal at Wall High School on the first day for students after a fire alarm from a faulty smoke detector caused a brief evacuation of the building Wednesday morning, according to police.

Wall police and the Fire Department responded to Wall High School at about 9:10 a.m. Wednesday for the fire alarm, resulting in the evacuation of the school for approximately 15 minutes, police said.

The cause of the alarm was found to be a faulty smoke detector head. The smoke detector has been fixed and the system has been reset, police said.
