WALL, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will be conducting a DWI checkpoint in Wall this weekend, DWI Task Force Coordinator Michael Schneider said.

Throughout the checkpoint, all westbound vehicles on Route 138 in Wall will be diverted onto Maxwell Road, where drivers will be screened for their sobriety.

Task Force members will work alongside local officers during the checkpoint, officials said.

“Drivers are often told ‘in a perfect world, we would not have to conduct these checkpoints,’” Schneider said. “But unfortunately, too many drivers are still not utilizing available options, and are getting behind the wheel of the car after drinking."

"Our goal is to eliminate the heartache these families have to endure after one of these unnecessary tragedies," Schneider continued.
