Gravestones, Cemetery Sign Struck In Wall Motor Vehicle Accident: PD
The accident occurred Sunday night when a vehicle crossed West Chicago Blvd. and entered St. Catharine's Cemetery grounds, police said.
WALL, NJ — A cemetery sign and multiple gravestones were hit Sunday night in a motor vehicle accident at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Wall Township Police said.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the cemetery entrance at 1100 West Chicago Blvd.
According to police, a vehicle traveling north on Village Road crossed West Chicago Blvd. and entered the cemetery grounds. The vehicle then left the roadway, striking a curb, a cemetery sign and multiple gravestones before coming to a stop, police said.

Following the incident, police said the vehicle sustained significant front-end damage, with all airbags deploying. The vehicle was then towed from the scene.
The sole occupant and driver of the vehicle was identified as a 40-year-old man from Wall Township, police said. Because the incident may have been medical-related, Wall Police Lt. Steven Nash said police will not be releasing the driver's name.

The driver was issued traffic summonses of driving while suspended, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane, according to Nash.
Following the crash, police said the driver was evaluated by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) but declined further medical treatment.
The incident remains under investigation by the Wall Township Police Department.
