5 People Injured In School Bus Crash On I-195 In Wall: NJ State Police
The crash occurred Thursday morning when a school bus traveling east on I-195 overturned after colliding with a GMC van, police said.
WALL, NJ — Five people were injured in a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus on I-195 East Thursday morning, NJ State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
Police responded to the crash at 7:24 a.m. on I-195 East at Exit 35B in Wall Township, Lebron said.
Based on a preliminary investigation, Lebron said a school bus was traveling east on I-195 and overturned after colliding with a GMC van.

As a result of the crash, one juvenile passenger sustained serious injuries, while the driver and three other juvenile passengers sustained minor injuries, according to police.
The bus driver and four passengers were brought to an area hospital. The driver of the GNC did not sustain any injuries.

The bus involved in the crash was not a Wall Township school bus, according to a pop-up message posted to the Wall Township Public Schools website, and Wall Township student passengers were not on the bus.
According to a report from the Asbury Park Press, Holmdel Mayor Brian Foster confirmed that the bus was transporting high school students from Holmdel to Communications High School. Patch has reached out to Foster for more information.
As of 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, Lebron said all eastbound lanes of I-195 remain closed for investigation and traffic is being diverted off I-195 East at Exit 31.
The crash remains under investigation and police said no additional information is available at this time.
